Configuring Exchange DAG
Before you use the Exchange Database Agent in Database Availability Group (DAG) environments, you must configure a DAG client and select the appropriate server.
Procedure
- From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, and then click New Client > Application > Microsoft Exchange > Exchange DAG.
The Exchange DAG Client Creation dialog box appears.
- Select the Active Directory domain name.
Active Directory domain name is configured
- From the AD Domain Name list, select the appropriate Active Directory domain name.
- Click Discover.
- From the DAG Servers list, select the appropriate server.
- From the Member Servers list, select the appropriate servers.
- In the Client Name box, type a name.
- Click OK.
The DAG client is created.
- From the DAG Servers list, select the appropriate server.
- From the Member Servers list, select the appropriate servers.
- In the Client Name box, type a name.
- Click OK.
The DAG client is created.
Adding a New Exchange DAG Member Server
Applies to: Exchange 2010 or later, and IntelliSnap
You can add a new member server to an existing DAG client
Procedure
- From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.
- Right-click the appropriate DAG client, and then click Properties.
The Client Computer Properties dialog box appears.
- Click Advanced.
The Advanced Client Properties dialog box appears.
- Click the Member Servers tab.
- If your environment is restricted, use a proxy server.
- Select the Use Proxy for DAG Discovery check box.
- From the Proxy list, select the appropriate proxy client.
- Click Discover.
- If the AD Server Credentials dialog box appears, enter the Active Directory credentials, and then click OK.
- From the DAG Servers list, select the appropriate server.
DAG member servers are listed with their fully qualified domain name. They appear highlighted if the Exchange Database Agent of the current release of Commvault is installed.
- From the Member Servers list, select the appropriate member servers.
- Click OK.
Changing DAG Client User Accounts
Procedure
- From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.
- Right-click the appropriate DAG client, and then click Properties.
The Client Computers Properties dialog box appears.
- Click Advanced.
The Advanced Client Properties dialog box appears.
- Click the Member Servers tab.
- Click Change User Account.
The AD Server Credentials dialog box appears.
- In the User Name box, type the Active Directory user account.
- In the Password box, type the password for the AD user account, and then reenter it in the Confirm Password box.
- Click OK.
