Basic NetBackup Commands

Below are few Basic NetBackup Commands that can help you get familiar with CLI Management of NetBackup environment.

 

Bpstuadd

 

bpstuadd – create NetBackup storage unit or storage group

 

bpstuadd -group storage_unit_group storage_unit_label,… [-sm

selection_method]

 

On UNIX systems, the directory path to this command is

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/

 

On Windows systems, the directory path to this command is

<install_path>\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\

 

 

Bppolicynew

 

bppolicynew – create, copy, or rename a NetBackup policy

 

 

On UNIX systems, the directory path to this command is

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/

 

On Windows systems, the directory path to this command is

<install_path>\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\

 

Bpstulist

 

bpstulist – display NetBackup storage units or storage unit groups

 

On UNIX systems, the directory path to this command is

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/

 

On Windows systems, the directory path to this command is

<install_path>\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\

 

Bpstudel

 

bpstudel – delete NetBackup storage unit or storage unit group

Bppllist

 

bppllist – list policy information

 

On UNIX systems, the directory path to this command is

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/

 

On Windows systems, the directory path to this command is

Bpps

 

bpps – list all processes and statistics for each process

 

The directory path to this command is <install_path>\NetBackup\bin\

Bpup

 

bpup – start NetBackup services on Windows systems

 

Bpdown

 

bpdown – shut down NetBackup services on Windows systems

 

The directory path to this command is <install_path>\NetBackup\bin\

 

 

Bpbackup

 

bpbackup – back up files to the NetBackup server

 

bpbackup -dssu DSSUname [-S master_server]

 

On UNIX systems, the directory path to this command is

Bprestore

 

bprestore – restore files from NetBackup Server

 

On UNIX systems, the directory path to this command is
